Founded in 2014, Uqora is a company dedicated to the treatment of urinary tract infections and their prevention. The National Kidney Foundation estimates that more than 20% of all women experience a urinary tract infection at least once in their lifetime. The problem stems from harmful bacteria entering the bladder through the urinary tract. This bacteria then multiply and causes an extremely painful and burning sensation when a person urinates. There may also be other symptoms such as the inability to urinate or an aching pressure on the abdomen or lower back. Some women even experience cloudy or bloody urine with a strong odor. Because of the severity of UTIs and the relatively few treatment options, Jenna Ryan co-founded Uqora, a successful company specialized in the treatment of urinary tract infections for both men and women.
