Tim Murawski is the CEO of Augmedics, a company that specializes in medical devices for spinal surgery and works with the XVision surgery system. The successful business man has also worked in a variety of biotechnology roles before joining the company in 2019. From sales to medical device companies to serving as a manager at some companies, it has allowed Tim Murawski to build the necessary skills to make Augmedics a successful company. Mr. Murawski used to work for a company called Mazor and assisted the company with a $1.6 billion acquisition in 2018 by Medtronic.
At Augmedics, Tim Murawski helped develop spinal surgery devices such as the XVision, the newest advancement in spine surgery to help the surgeon perform a more precise surgery. With an over 98.9% percutaneous accuracy and eliminating the need for the surgeon to shift between screens during surgery, this model allows less time under general anesthesia for patients and better vision for placement of hardware from the surgeon. Tim Murawski has explained that the Xvision helps align the surgeon’s hands and eyes with advanced 3D technology to get a close-up look at the spine, vertebrae, and spinal cord during a given surgery that in most cases are delicate emergencies.
This helps the surgeon accurately perform surgery on the patient reducing injury. According to the successful businessman and CEO Tim Murawski, it gives the surgeon x-ray vision helping navigate instruments and implants compared to other screens and visual platforms. The machine helps determine the exact position of the tools, compared to relying on MRI, X-Ray or CT scans. The Xvision, Tim Murawski explains, gives the surgeon better control bringing a quicker and safer surgery experience to the patient and reducing recovery time. With the precise surgical technology, more hospitals and surgeons are hopping on board to use this unique device to enhance the surgical experience for their patients.
