NumbersUSA Action, a Virginia-based immigration-reduction organization, has 435 congressional districts and five million participants. The responsibility of the members of this lobby group is to persuade government officials to back immigration policies that help to safeguard the interests of American citizens. Established by Roy Beck, this group was established to respond to the commission on immigration reforms whose primary role was to reduce the annual immigration reduced by half.

To help manage the ever-rising immigration levels, NumbersUSA is an advocacy group, who has made suggestions that are worth considering. They point out that there’s a need for continued permanent immigration, but it should be accomplished under specific provisions. For instance, such status should be accorded to immigrants with extraordinary skills that are of national interest.

They still point out that such status should be accorded to the special needs refugees who’ve no long-term prospects of residing in their native region. NumbersUSA Action also believes that marriages by U.S citizens and overseas adoptions should be factored in under the permanent immigration.

The advocacy group still reiterates that certain aspects should be eliminated to help ease the immigration burden. Top of their list is visa lottery and extended-family “chain migration.” They’re also advocating that employment-based visas for foreigners who don’t have any extraordinary skills should be limited to temporary in case of a labor shortage.

They also believe that illegal immigration can be eliminated through the introduction of the open visiting policy. This means that people would be able to tour, study and visit their relatives in the United States for a long time.

The reduction of immigration is also championed by the NumbersUSA Education and Research Foundation. This is a civil forum for Americans to contribute towards the issues of high immigration levels.
