Empiricus Research Claiming its Stake in Brazil’s Socio-Economic Informational Sphere https://americanretiredseniors.com/empiricus-research-claiming-its-stake-in-brazils-socio-economic-informational-sphere/ https://americanretiredseniors.com/empiricus-research-claiming-its-stake-in-brazils-socio-economic-informational-sphere/#respond Fri, 31 Jan 2020 14:33:07 +0000 http://americanretiredseniors.com/?p=97 Among the outspoken and controversial claims of Empiricus Research have been its characterization of Marfrig management in terms of “phony enologist” and its headline, “How to turn R$1,000 into More Than $R150,000 in 32 Days”, for one of its paid Google and Facebook promotions.

Empiricus, based in Brazil and run by three Brazilian entrepreneurs, has employed inciting promotional tactics and even contrarian viewpoints for its newsletter content, currently at 180,000 subscribers, covering political and economic conditions within the country.

Empiricus has been known to deal with suspension, sentencing and investigations by governmental and regulatory groups, such as the Securities and Exchange Commission, Apimec and the General Attorney’s office, regarding pieces relevant to elections and financial topics, such as “Where to invest if Dilma leaves”, commenting on impeachment issues surrounding then-president Dilma Roussef, and “41% Profit in 40 Days”.

Empiricus also adopted the former Petrobras president, Graça Foster’s banner for its piece titled “Trump or shame? Is it time to buy?” and “Where to invest if Dilma leaves”, commenting further on the impending impeachment. Refer to This Article to learn more.

The financial reporter shares a commonality in its name with that of Empiricus’ holding company and controlling shareholder, the Baltimore, Maryland-based Agora, in that Sextus Empiricus was a Greek philosopher from the 2nd century who subscribed to the policy of Pyrrhonism, a disavowal of the subscription to beliefs.

Empiricus Research is the concept of Felipe Miranda, Caio Mesquita and Rodolfo Amstalden.

It runs largely on the newsletter and bulletin-subscription model, which includes paid monthly subscriptions and free bulletins, such as “Market in five minutes”. It also extends its readership via a separate site, O Antagonista, which Empiricus half-owns. Go Here to learn more.

The Agora, which was first funded in 1978, runs a network of publications on health, travel and finance.
