Bhanu Choudhrie is a British-Indian entrepreneur and investor. He is the Founder and Executive Director of C&C Alpha Group, a private equity firm headquartered in London, England.
C&C Alpha Group has a wide-ranged portfolio, Its focus is mainly on the air travel industry. In 2003, the company invested in one plane Air Deccan. By 2007 the airline had amassed over 200 planes and had become a key player in the Indian airline space. In that same year, Kingfisher acquired Air Deccan for a whopping $135. 57 million.
During his time at Air Deccan, Bhanu Choudhrie was faced with the challenge of finding well trained professional pilots in Asia. To tackle the problem of shortage of professional Asian pilots,
Choudhrie formed Alpha Aviation Group in conjunction with Prescient Systems and Technologies, a leading system provider in Asia and a subsidiary of Singapore Technology.
Alpha Aviation Group is now one of the world’s leading airline training platforms. It boasts of a host of clients including Air Arabia, Cebu Pacific, Jet Airways, Philippine Airlines, VietJet Air Among others. The academy accommodates novice pilots as well as pilots who are on their way to being professionals.
The Aviation Academy has trained over 330 pilots across 67 countries and they are currently training over 100. Graduates from the Academy also have a high employability rate, over 600 graduates have transitioned into the airline profession as Airbus A320 second officers.
The Academy owns a large facility in the Philippines equipped with four simulators that cover the major airliners. over 500 individuals currently participate in that program.
