Asot Michael is a driven and indispensable member of Parliament. Born on December 21, 1969, Michael was born with a fire for public service. Graduating from Barry University in 1989, and Miami University with business degrees. Michael understands Antigua and Barbuda’s economy well. He has served in government since 1995 and has served St. Peter’s constituency with the Labour Party since 2004. While doing this, he utilized his entrepreneurial upbringing to facilitate and encourage small business growth as Minister of Public works, Communications, Insurance, and St. John’s development between 2001 and 2003. Consequentially, the majority of Michael’s political views stem from personal growth and development as well as minimal government intervention. He has the foresight to understand what the people in his district require in terms of infrastructure and technological growth.
He also wishes to cultivate local city councils to direct policymaking decisions. With that in mind, Michael fights, improving the industries and residences of his constituency and enhancing tourism in his constituency. He fights for systemic change from the bottom for his constituents, through a firm belief in a citizen-centered government. Michael emphasizes retail politics, believing in meeting the average citizen, getting to know them personally, and addressing their needs. Interestingly, Asot Michael is not worried about getting re-elected to another term. He knows that his hard work and dedication will bring voters to him. He cares deeply about his constituents and knows that they will make the right decision to reelect him again. He looks forward to serving his constituency and helping them realize their full potential.
