Launched in 2013

Hawkers had been launched in the year 2013. Four friends at a university had an idea to create designer sunglasses and they wanted to make them accessable and affordable to anyone. They were in Spain when their idea took flight. By the year 2016, the company had been valued at 60 million dollars and it was viewed as one of the biggest sunglass companies on the planet.

Financial Hardships

Hawkers was not always in the tops in terms of success. This company began with a 300 dollar investment and then began to go through some financial hardships after a few years into their endeavor. Once the financial issues had kicked in, they had considered closing the doors.

They thought it was best to do so before outside investors noticed. It was at this time that Alejandro Betancourt had stepped in. He is the head of O’Hara Administration. This is an international investment group. He had good reasons for stepping into the picture.

He did so in order to provide the needed leverage that would keep the business in the clear and moving forward. Alejandro Betancourt moved in ahead of time to help get the company heading in the right direction again. The intent was to scale the venture effectively. Alejandro Betancourt saw that this company was worthy of the added leverage.

The Difference

The four founders of the sunglass company knew that they had to compete with some well-known brands. The big brands sold their sunglasses for hundreds of dollars even though it was it did not cost that much to create them. Hawkers differed from the other brands in the sense that they offered very similar quality sunglasses and found a way to sell them at a quarter of the cost.

This business had earned the respect of many by paving their way and keeping focused on their product. Alejandro Betancourt saw that this brand of sunglasses had something that made them stand apart from others.
