Tom Chang MD is an Optimologist located in California. He is from Canada and has spent numerous years in schools and fellowships to improve his craft in his field of Optimology. Dr. Tom Chang started his medical journey at the University Of Toronto Medical School.
From Toronto Medical School Tom Chang MD enrolled in his residency at the University of Western Toronto. After his residency, he completed three fellowships for retinal diseases such as optometric pathology, macular disease, and vitreoretinal surgery just to name a few.
Once, Tom Chang MD finished his training, he decided to give back and became an Assistant Professor of Optamalogy for 5 years at the University of British Columbia and then an Associate professor at Doheny Eye Insitute for 6 years. After his days in education, Dr. Chang decided to open his own Retina Eye Institue in 2005 to give his medical outreach to more people.
If you do some research on Dr. Tom Chang, there are some very interesting articles out about him. For example, Dr. Chang was apart of a medical team that performed the first implantation of stem cell treatment for patients that suffer from dry macular degeneration. This was groundbreaking research and successful treatment that was amazing for Dr. Chang to have been honored to take part in. As a result, he and his associates have been able to help more people all over the world to get surgery and treatment.
Another way that Tom Chang MD gives back to others is by giving lectures, over 120 of them, in 20 different countries. He has also written over 50 publications and was even the team Optamalogist of the Vancouver Grizzlies when they were apart of the NBA. If it is safe to say anything, it is that Dr. Tom Chang has accomplished much in his life and helped others in the process.
