Quentin Flannery has spent most of his career working in the resources industry in Australia. He got his spot with Yancoal Australia Limited where he was one of the youngest marketing managers in the world. He now sits on the board of directors for many start-up businesses to assist them in their growth, but this is not the only good that Flannery invests in. Before getting to that though, it is important to note that Flannery does have his bachelor in International Studies, Chinese Language. His philanthropic efforts have begun with his family’s charity. Quentin Flannery’s family charity is called the Flannery Foundation. The goal of the foundation is to help other organizations in the country of Australia who are making a philanthropic effort in their business ventures. The foundation was actually founded by Brian and Peggy Flannery, who are Quentin’s parents. Quentin Flannery now serves as the director of The Flannery Foundation, along with his siblings Tyson and Kirsten Flannery.
The outcome of this foundation has assisted other businesses and charities in being able to do more and more for the community to assist the businesses and the people of Australia at large. The ultimate goal of The Flannery Foundation is to give back to the community, whether that be through other organizations or to the community themselves. They want to help the most vulnerable in the community, whether those be homeless individuals, victims of domestic violence, and children who have faced abuse and neglect. The foundation also seeks to work in education as this is such an underfunded and important sector across the world, even in Australia. The Flannery Foundation was actually founded in 2010 specifically as an Australian Private Ancillary Fund. Anyone who could receive donations at that time had to be registered as Deductible Gift Recipients. The company has found all of its own partners to assist and all of its own partners to assist in the mission. These have led to partnerships with organizations such as Orange Sky, Act for Kids, Birth for Humankind, The Buttery, Rizeup Australia, Food Bank, and many more organizations throughout the country.
