Sometimes the top CEOs of some of the world’s largest corporations get their inspiration for business innovation in their downtime. That includes kicking back with a bowl of popcorn to watch a movie or tune into a favorite TV show.
Elias Landsmanas Dymensztejn is no exception. He is the director of Corporativo Kosmos, one of the largest food distribution firms in Mexico. This company is responsible for feeding three million Mexican citizens every day. It distributes more than 800 tons of food daily to schools, prisons, hotels, offshore drilling platforms and more.

Managing a food corporation is a major responsibility. Elias Landsmanas Dymensztejn said one never knows when a major problem will crop up that can sometimes explode onto a crisis. That’s why one of his favorite films is Apollo 13, the story of a NASA moon mission that nearly failed and killed all three astronauts on their way to the moon and back.
Elias Landsmanas said he loves the way Apollo 13 demonstrated decisive action and how it can solve difficult problems when everything is on the line. He said it reminds him of his leadership team at Corportivo Kosmos. They don’t flinch from critical challenges when they arise. Rather, they roll up their sleeves and find solutions, he said.
Elias Landsmanas Dymensztejn is also a fan of the American TV reality show Shark Tank. He said it demonstrates the complexity and the ups and downs of entrepreneurial pursuits. He said Shark Tank provides key lessons that show young people what to do and what to avoid if they want to find business success.
