Repton School is located in Repton, specifically in South Derbyshire. It is a boarding and day school for both male and female students. Repton School has many exciting programs, but it has just announced an exciting addition of a swim programme.
This will assist in marketing the school as the swim centre will open opportunities for many across England. The centre will be nationally-ranked. It has already increased interested across the country.
Repton School will hire a Director of Swimming in an effort to make the centre nationally recognized. The director will oversee a competition team and training for multiple teams. Those swimmers who are performance based will have a coach to allow them to compete at high levels.
The community will also be able to enjoy the swimming centre as there will be many opportunities such as Learn to Swim and Swim Camps. There will be opportunities for individuals of every age. Repton School and the Repton community will be brought closer together through the centre.
There will be two twenty-five metre pools, and swimmers can take advantage of all sports based facilities, including the fitness centre and conditioning centres. The centre has been opened.
The opening of the Repton School swimming centre had many exciting guests including Adam Peaty who is an Olympic swimmer. He actually trained at Repton School pools. His coach was Mel Marshall who was the swimming coach during Peaty’s time at the school.
Repton School already had a reputation across England for its swimming programme, and the new centre will only add to the reputation. Athletes will be trained according to the Long-Term Athlete Development Model to develop their sport on all aspects. More and more integration will be provided as the students become more and more advance athletes.
Rehabilitation services will also be offered for any injury. Tutoring is provided to assist students in keeping up with their academics. There will be a schedule in place for each athlete.
Students who participate in sports, including swimming, are able to improve classroom outcomes. The students will grow in confidence and self-worth. They will also grow in time management skills and goal setting skills. Finally, students athletes are more mentally stable and community driven. This has allowed Repton School’s graduates to be strong examples of community leaders.
