In a recent article with the hi tech chronicle, Sawyer Howitt shared his tips for young people wanting to succeed in the workforce. In the article he highlights the fight against ageism in the workplace, which in today’s society is prevalent. Sawyer was right to point out that age seems to be synonymous with experience and knowledge, however this is not always the case, if you have a good idea, then it doesn’t matter what age you are so long as you believe in what you have to sell and you are passionate about it.
Furthermore, Sawyer believes that there are 5 keys to success which are to prove your value, sometimes all you can do is show your employer you are capable of the work assigned. The second is to market yourself, a lot of people have trouble with such, but it is important if you want to be taken seriously and it can be a real confidence booster.
